The Scottish Government recently
issued a draft Scottish Social Housing Charter for consideration by
interested parties. The consultation period closed recently and our
response was submitted on 1 November.
We would like to thank those tenants
who took the time to make their views known to us.
The Scottish Social Housing Charter
will contain the outcomes that the new independent Scottish Housing
Regulator will use to assess landlords performance in delivering
their services to tenants, homeless people and any others who
benefit from the services. The Regulator will then publish
performance reports, and will be able to set performance
improvement targets for individual landlords.
Over the next few months, the Charter
Team will review the responses and revise the Charter before
submitting to the Scottish Parliament for approval. If approval is
granted the first Charter is likely to come into effect in April
2012 and be in place for five years.
We will bring you more information as
it becomes available.
