Important Update – Repairs

Important Update - Repairs

Further to the UK and Scottish Government announcements we have listed tasks that are classed as “absolutely necessary”.

This is a common sense approach and applies where there is an Emergency category repair and where there is a danger or risk to householders or property.

In many cases this may be a temporary repair depending upon the extent of the work. For example: A roof leak or partial power loss.

Emergency Repairs are as follows:

  • Unsafe power or lighting sockets or electrical fittings
  • Loss or part loss of electric power
  • Loss or part loss of gas supply
  • A blocked flue to an open fire or boiler
  • External windows, doors or locks which are not secure; – boarding up windows and doors / re-secure doors (where the customer is unable to lock doors or windows)
  • Board up / maxam double glazed unit where the glass is broken on both sides only
  • Loss or part loss of space or water heating if no alternative heating is available; (no heat or hot water)
  • Toilets which do not flush (if there is no other toilet in the house)
  • Blocked or leaking foul drains, soil stacks or toilet pans (if there is no other toilet in the house)
  • Blocked sink, bath or basin
  • Loss or part loss of water supply
  • Significant leaking or flooding from a water or heating pipe, tank or cistern
